It’s August already! The year has flown by. I have one child going into kindergarten this month, and another starting preschool next month. Once school starts, our schedule will fill up fast (I’m already squeezing things into our schedule for September). So we are trying our best to make the most out of these last few weeks of summer vacation. Every day we are out riding bikes, swimming or just playing in the sun.
And with a new month, comes a new round up of some of the products we are loving right now. I skipped a few months during the summer, but I really love sharing the things that are making my days easier and brighter. As always, in the comments let me know what products you are loving right now too!
For Mom
Candle: My husband grabbed this candle for me a few weeks ago at JoAnn and I love the smell so much. Perfect scent for these warm summer evenings when I’m cleaning up the house. I can’t find this candle sold anywhere but JoAnn. But now I want one for every season. It’s on clearance right now, so I’m guessing it’s not sticking around.
Schick Intuition Razor: For a while I used a men’s razor, and I liked it just fine. But I just bought this razor a couple months ago and I like this one so much more. I don’t need shaving gel, and I feel like that alone makes shaving so much quicker.
Malibu C Miracle Repair: I ordered one of these because my hair had been feeling extra dry and damaged lately. And it helped so much! It’s suppose to cool yellow tones, and I didn’t notice a difference in color. But it definitely helped my hair feel and look so much better. Malibu C also has a hard water treatment that I want to try next.
NYX Brow Glue: I think I added this one to my favorites list a few months ago, but I’m still loving it. All I do in the mornings is a little concealer under my eyes, this brow glue, and mascara (if my lashes aren’t done). Takes less than 5 minutes. I think they recommend using the brow glue, then filling in your brows with a brow pencil. But I find just the glue is plenty.
For The Kids
Temporary Tattoos: My kids are obsessed with these. I got these ones from Amazon. They are glow in the dark, and come in a pack of 400 tattoos. I also taught my kids how to apply them on themselves. So when I need 5 minutes of space, and I don’t care about a small mess, then I give them a stack of these temporary tattoos. Fair warning though: They don’t come off super easy. I didn’t realize when I bought them that they are labeled as waterproof. So my kids have gone just about everywhere with their arms and legs covered in them lately. Doesn’t really bother me, but I don’t want you to be surprised!
Pool Floaties: These have been a big hit for my kids. We swim every single day so any pool toy is a big hit. But these have been the favorite. They play with them in and out of the pool actually. They are easy for my kids to get in and out of on their own, and small enough that they don’t take up too much pool space.
Toddler Bike: We got this bike a couple summers ago, and still use it daily. I like this one because I can make it a regular bike, a tricycle, or a balance bike. It’s pretty easy to switch it too. My almost 2 year old and my almost 4 year old can ride this one (it’s smaller on the older one, but he still has lots of fun with it). The one we have didn’t come with the push handle, but it looks like they do now!
For The Home
Carpet Cleaner Solution: Listen, I am obsessed with my carpet cleaner. I use it weekly. My husband teases me for it, but our rugs stay clean and nice. The last couple weeks I have used the Pet Urine Eliminator + Oxy. It cleans so much better than the others I’ve tried and smells so good too. This one actually came with my carpet cleaner when we bought it, but I had bought a different kind and left this one in the back of the closet until my others ran out. Now I kind of regret passing it up right away. I also saw that my carpet cleaner has been discounted on Amazon lately, so check that out too!
Handheld Vacuum: I used to have a different handheld vacuum, it broke after a couple years. So my husband ordered me this one, and I love it already. I use it daily. I clean the window tracks, the tight corners, baseboards, under the couch cushions, and even to get spiders because I’m super afraid of them. And if you have kids, it’s great for them to use. My son grabs the “little vacuum” all the time when he sees a mess to clean up.
Fridge Calendar: With school starting, my calendar is already filling up so fast. And I was getting worried that something would slip through the cracks. I got this calendar to go on my fridge and I LOVE it. Mine has a calendar, a week planner and a blank board. I use the blank board as a to do list or a grocery list. It’s been perfect for us to keep track of everything going on.
That’s all! But before you go, be sure to comment the products you’re loving this month. Then check out this post to get your back to school clothes shopping done this month.
