I’ve said it a million times on this blog, but I’ll say it again. I love holidays! They are so fun, especially with kids! And finding ways to make them extra special for my kids is kind of my favorite thing. Last week, I posted a list of simple and sweet Valentines Day gifts for kids. And now, I’ve got the perfect Valentines Day dessert to have with your kids after a special Valentines Day dinner at home (with the Valentines Day placemats I shared last year).

This Valentines Day, we are making these Cupid’s Floats for dessert at home. This is beyond easy. And you’ve probably had this or a version of it before. It’s a root beer float, but we are swapping the root beer for cherry 7-up for a festive spin.

I feel silly even posting a “recipe” because it’s kind of just common sense. And it’s really so customizable based on what your family likes best. But here we go. Let’s make the easiest Valentines Day Dessert for your kids.

What You Need For These Floats:

Cherry 7-UP – If you don’t love cherry 7-UP, you can try Sprite or Olipop. Either one would work great. NExt time I make this, I’m going to try it with strawberry vanilla Olipop.

Ice Cream or Sherbet – You could really choose any ice cream. This last time, I used vanilla ice cream since that is my kids preference. But my very favorite is a sherbet.

I like to use the small 8oz mason jars for my kids. They are the perfect size for kids cups. We use them day to day for water cups too. You could get some festive straws. Or if you want to really bump up the sugar, my kids love twizzlers as straws.

Anyway, all you need to do is put a small scoop of ice cream in the bottom of each cup. Then pour your soda over the top until you fill the cup.

There you have it! An easy, yummy Valentines Day dessert that your kids will love. It literally only takes a minute to put together. You can easily switch out the soda or ice cream flavor to better fit what your kids prefer. And you can add extra festive fun to this easily through festive cups, straws, sprinkles, whatever. In the comments, let me know if you’ll be trying this, what flavors you chose, and if your kids liked it. Enjoy!
